It has been said that there are over 20,000 documented lies that Donald Trump has said before and during his presidency. One would think that all of those lies would have made him undesirable. Apparently not. The election proved that over 70 million voters liked being lied to. (Of course, that was before January 6th.) As a matter of fact. If it wasn’t for President Trump’s best lie, that number would have been closer to 80 million. Of all the lies that Donald Trump said during his presidency, President Trump’s best lie was the one that destroyed him. That lie was that we were rounding the corner on the corona virus. Let me explain why it is the lie that cost him the election.
There were roughly 150 million votes cast on Nov 3rd. Most voters had already made up their mind on who they were going to vote for. However, there was still roughly 10% of the voters that fell into the undecided category. 15 million votes were still up for grabs. So, what did President Trump do to try and attract the undecided voters? He doubled down on saying we are rounding the corner on the coronavirus. He continued to do it right up until the election. I seem to remember that we were losing 2000 or more American lives every day just before the election. The CDC and Anthony Fauci were all saying on a regular basis that we were headed towards a dark winter. They estimated then, that we were soon going to be seeing, and did see, 4000 people a day dying from Covid19. How stupid can someone be? Here I thought treating Covid19 internally was the dumbest thing he had ever said. Boy was I wrong! This article should probably be in my “R U Kidding Me” category instead of this one.
In the end, the undecided voters decided the 2020 presidential election.
